What do dog sleds offer?

Traverse the snowy landscape with a dog sled, enjoy the biting frost on your face, and feel like you're in Lapland. You don't have to go that far at all. You can also enjoy a fairytale winter in Slovakia. Become a musher for a trial and indulge in your dose of adrenaline romance on a sled pulled by a devoted pack in the midst of a freezing winter.

Mushing – that is, dog sledding, is, however, far from just a sport. It's a training in endurance, care, and love for animals. Controlling a dog sled is not about aggression and ruthlessness, quite the opposite. Mushing is about patience and communication, resulting in respect and good results. So what? Are you tempted to command wolves?

How does a dog sled ride work?

Donovaly:

You will learn about the history and present of dog sledding – mushing, you will learn the techniques and tricks to control them, and you will test your skills in managing a real dog pack. Driving a dog sled is challenging and exciting at the same time.

The ride can be done with 3 dog sleds. If there are more people, they take turns on the sleds. The maximum number of people is therefore not limited.

Important information about mushing:

PočasieSezóna/PočasieYou can enjoy a dog sled ride during the winter months. A full-day trip can only be taken during the week! Suitable snow conditions are a must. The shooting experience is not conducted in extremely adverse weather conditions.

Me and 2 kids (10 and 8 years old). I assume they can't ride with me on one sled anymore and I'm worried if they can do it on their own (even if together). If we were to go on 2 sleds, me and the kids alone, is it still the same price? Thank you.

Hello Adriana,
Smaller children, or an adult and a child up to the age of 6-7, can ride at the same time. Whether this is possible will be assessed by the musher on site based on the weight and fatigue of the dogs. But with two children it will not be a problem. In any case, communicate the number of people and their ages when booking.
