Skid control experience

What does the ski school offer?

Skid School is a practical gift for every driver. Whether you have your own car or a company vehicle, you can get into unexpected situations with any of them. Skid School is focused precisely on them. It will help you handle everyday situations on the road, improve your reactions and use your foresight and intuition more. Skid School will reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the vehicle and help you realize your own, so you can support each other and escape from road and off-road troubles.

How does the ski school work?

Compact course - for less experienced drivers

Compact training will help you get to know your vehicle better, its behavior in different situations, improve your driving and gain that all-important confidence behind the wheel. With us you can try different surfaces - dry, wet, ice and even mixed surfaces. You will also practice the ability to react quickly and then perform a correctly executed evasive maneuver to an obstacle on the road. The instructor will explain to you in detail the capabilities and functions of the ABS system, thanks to which the car itself can "hold" us in weaker crisis situations and help us handle them.

The course Skid School consists of theoretical and practical parts that follow and complement each other. Theory lasts 1 hour, practice 2 hours.

Gangster course - for experienced drivers with a suitable car

Training focused on non-standard "gangster" maneuvers is intended for drivers who have completed Compact and/or Intensive training, more experienced drivers with more than 50,000 km, or for drivers who enjoy driving and want to know more.

Trained exercises:

• gangster spin (on a slippery surface – slow pace),
• gangster turn (on wet asphalt – faster pace),
• 360° rotation (for cars with mechanical handbrake),
• skidding through a curve using the handbrake (front-wheel drive cars)
• cornering with a slide on the gas – drift (rear-wheel drive and 4x4 cars)

Car needed:

Skid School Gangster is suitable for most types of passenger cars, with the exception of tall off-road vehicles with a higher centre of gravity and large axle travel. Most SUVs are suitable for training. The course is not suitable for cars with an electronic handbrake! To pass, you must have a car with a mechanical handbrake. It is not possible to rent a car for this type of course.

The Skid School Gangster course consists of theoretical and practical parts that follow and complement each other. Theory lasts 1 hour, practice 2 hours.

Intensive course - for experienced and regular drivers

The Skid School course consists of theoretical and practical parts that follow and complement each other. Theory lasts 2 hours, practice 4-5 hours (starts at 09:00 - ends at 17:00).

Skid School will teach you to know your vehicle so you can control it properly. From seat adjustment, steering wheel grip, anticipating crisis situations, to various tips and advice to make driving easier.

The practical part is focused on improving driving technique on slippery surfaces simulating an icy road surface. Braking, acceleration, correct cornering, avoiding obstacles, preventing and managing skidding. Skid School will give you a proven guide for real situations. You can also complete practical training in a vehicle, which we can rent to you if you are interested. However, we recommend taking the skid school in your own vehicles.

Advanced Pachfurth course - only for graduates of the INTENSIVE training!

The Skid School ADVANCED course consists of a theoretical and practical part, which build on each other and expand the skills acquired in the INTENSIVE course. The theory lasts 2 hours, the practice approximately 4 hours (The entire day-long training lasts approximately 7.5 hours with lunch and evaluation).

The Skid School ADVANCED is intended for drivers who have already completed INTENSIVE and want to control the car beyond the usual knowledge. It will teach you to gain control of your vehicle beyond the limit of grip and advance your skills in maneuvering at higher speeds with an emphasis on technical precision.

The practical part is focused on improving driving technique at higher speeds (60 – 80 km/h) on both slippery and dry surfaces. The training includes solving a skid at a higher speed, precise driving with practicing braking in a curve, two extreme evasive maneuvers (the moose test), and mastering a maneuver with emergency braking. The training will also teach you to be sensitive to the interventions of the ABS system and when it is better not to use it in critical situations when cornering. We recommend taking the skid school in your own vehicles.

The experience includes: rental of the premises, rental of the conference hall, technical and organizational arrangements for the course, main instructor, assistant instructor, theoretical training, practical exercises at the driving range in your own car.
