What does the Gold Panning Experience offer?

You can try the Gold Panning Experience in Slovakia too. Many of our rivers and streams are gold-bearing. The Danube, Váh, Hron, or Nitra and their tributaries offer many such locations. Even the names of the villages suggest that gold may be found there. Zlaté Moravce, Zlatá Idka, Zlatník, Zlatno are worth considering.

You probably won't get rich by panning for gold - you need to find about 3,000 gold coins to get 1 gram of gold. However, it is a fun outdoor activity for the whole family, and all you need is a rice cooker for a few euros. Learn to handle it and try to find your first goldfish.

How is gold panning done?

The experience takes place at various locations around Ružomberok, where it is possible to actually discover gold or silver. Using a panning pan, you will learn how to wash river sand so that the lighter sand floats away and the heavier pieces of gold remain at the bottom.

The experience includes:

  • rental of gold panning tools
  • services of an experienced instructor
