Via ferrata is a path in challenging mountain terrain, equipped with fixed safety ropes, iron stirrups (or other artificial aids), aimed at increasing personal safety and making difficult terrain accessible to visitors who do not have much experience with demanding mountaineering ascents.

How does the Via Ferrata experience work?

At the beginning, you will learn something about theory, familiarize yourself with the components of Via ferrata equipment, and head out to the rock.

The experience includes:

  • Via ferrata tour in Slovakia
  • Services of a mountain guide UIMLA – international mountain guide
  • Rental of necessary equipment (seat harness, fall arrester, helmet)
  • Mountain insurance

Martinské hole - the first Slovak Via ferrata

  • Amazing nature, mountain air, and rushing water - that's the HZS ferrata at Martinské hole.
  • It is the first secured Via ferrata (fixed ropes, stirrups, ladder, rope bridges) in Slovakia in Veľká dolina in Malá Fatra near Martin.
  • It is a moderately difficult hike, during which you will overcome 800 vertical meters.
  • It requires adequate physical fitness, hiking boots, and clothing.
  • The total ascent time is 3-4 hours and descent time is 1.5-2 hours.

Important information about the Via ferrata experience with a mountain guide:

PočasieSezóna/PočasieThe Via Ferrata can be completed from 01/06/2027 - 15/09/2027. The tour takes place only in good weather during weekends or holidays. For groups of min. 6 people, there is also the possibility of a date during the week. The experience does not take place in adverse weather conditions.
OblečenieClothingWe recommend sportswear and sturdy hiking boots.
PodmienkyPodmienkyA minimum of 5 participants is required for the Via Ferrata, and individuals will be assigned to a group. Adequate physical fitness is necessary. Suitable for children from 10 years old who are talented in movement or regularly engage in sports. It is advisable to make the reservation as soon as possible before the desired date.
StornoCancellation policyCancellation of the reservation is possible only once, at the latest 3 days before the agreed date.
